Why bother coming in
The wrong cartridge is a two-trip mistake.
Ordering toner online is easy right up until the box arrives and the number on it is one character off from the number on your machine. Then it is a return label, a week, and a printer you still cannot use.

Including the older office machines the big stores stopped stocking for. If it is still running, it is worth asking about.

One phone call confirms the cartridge is on the shelf, so a ten-minute errand stays a ten-minute errand.
What to bring
Any one of these is enough.

The model number. Usually on a sticker on the front, the back, or inside the lid of the machine.

A photo of the label. A phone picture of the sticker works just as well as writing it down.

The empty cartridge. The surest option — it gets matched against the real thing.
