About the shop
24 years in print.
18 behind this counter.
OC Copies and Printing is not a branch of anything. It is one shop in Orange, owned and run by the person who prices your job.
Francis
He learned it before he owned it.
Francis started in the print and copy industry in January 2002. Three years later he was managing a franchise shop and had become a partner in it — which meant the quoting, the scheduling, the machines and the awkward phone calls, not just the counter.
In 2008 he left to open his own place. That shop is OC Copies and Printing, on N. Tustin St, and it has been there ever since.
What that buys you is narrow but real: the person who quotes your job is the person who runs it and the person who hands it back. If a fold is wrong or a color is off, you are not explaining it to someone who has to check with someone else.
How it got here

-
2005
Manager, then partner
Three years in, running a franchise shop and holding a stake in it. The whole operation, not one station of it.
-
2008
Opens his own counter
Leaves the franchise to open the shop on N. Tustin St, where the name over the door is the person behind it.

Two claims that have been on the glass at 1704 N. Tustin for years. They are easier to make when the owner is the one who has to stand behind them.
